Job Description:

  • Relocation to the South Western US as soon as possible is required for this position. The city will be divulged to you during the phone interview if you qualify.

    Our Confidential Client is a multi-billion dollar corporation headquartered in the beautiful South Western US and is seeking an experienced CIO to head up their expanding IT organization. The company is pursuing some major technology challenges due to tremendous growth in their industry over the past several years.

    Chief Information Officer CIO

    Position overview and responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have full responsibility for the successful management of the Information Technology department. You will manage a total staff of 25-35 employees with multiple direct reports.

  • Communicates with Executive Management in establishing IT strategy, goals and priorities. You will act as the primary liaison between MIS and Executive Management including the CEO; provides direction and mission to the MIS department, and acts as advisor to the Executive Management team.

  • Establishes and maintains the Corporate vision with respect to Information Technology; leads the organization and IT personnel accordingly. Regularly communicates MIS strategies and initiatives with the Steering Committee and the Company as a whole.

  • Leads the IS team, creating a culture and work ethic that will maximize efficiency and performance in the organization.

  • Develops overall corporate IT strategy including needs, systems development, hardware/software acquisition and integration. Responsible for integrating long-term company-wide information needs with data processing activities, including systems analysis, programming and computer and auxiliary operations. Identifies new computer technologies and determines their applicability to the organization’s long-term needs and goals.

  • Oversees IS policies and procedures, technical standards, methods and priorities. Has direct, day-to-day management responsibilities for data processing plans, projects, performance and related matters.

  • Drives the operation from an IT perspective; establishes priorities with subordinates and drives project plans to their completion (through subordinate management). Establishes and accounts for the Information Technology budget for the company.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with third parties, with whom the Company may partner or invest, to bring technologies that will add value to the Company. Evaluates and researches new opportunities presented through third parties and technology partners.

    Qualifications: You must meet all the following requirements to qualify.

  • A “Hands On” technology/business professional with a proven history of successfully managing large Information Technology projects.Experience with JD Edwards Software is a plus!

  • The “Ideal Candidate” will have worked in a large corporate environment (at least a 1 billion dollar company) as the CIO or CTO for at least 5-10 years with a staff of at least 25+ professionals. Further, the perfect candidate will come from one of the following industries; Manufacturing, Real Estate, Industrial Construction, Home Building, Commercial Construction or a related industry.

  • You must have a proven track record of building and managing a solid IT team of technical professionals.

  • You must demonstrate a high energy level, be driven to get the job done, and exude a high degree of self-confidence to fellow executives.

  • Able to promulgate process-driven methodologies across the organization. Experienced at identifying ‘big picture’ opportunities and reducing them to action plans/initiatives with the ability to work with the other corporate Executives and reach decisions by consensus of the group.

  • This is a highly visible position in the corporate Executive staff, therefore you must be a polished professional with the ability to effectively communicate and present regularly to senior management and the CEO as well as all levels within the company.

  • You must possess a “Get Things Done Attitude” with excellent Business Acumen skills including the ability to make sound business decisions.

  • You must have the strength of your own convictions. Able to understand users’ perspectives and to modify them with mature business/technology judgment, be decisive and take the appropriate action.

  • Able to solicit and win buy-ins. You must be a very action and results-oriented professional. Pro-active and able to engender high levels of confidence throughout the entire organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent required. An MBA is highly desirable.

  • You must have and be able to provide impeccable Executive references from your past employers.

  • You will be required to successfully pass a detailed Background Check and Drug Screening to be considered for the position.
